Source, a leading provider of research, data, and strategic advice about the global professional services industry, is seeking a versatile and analytical individual with a background in management consulting to play a central role in the delivery of our Growth Strategy projects.

Our culture is one of the cornerstones of our success: We give our people a say in the way our company is run, treating them as individuals, but celebrating our successes as a team. Everybody has a voice and is encouraged to share their ideas about how we grow.

 About the opportunity

The Growth Strategy team undertakes projects that help our clients—predominantly consulting firms—understand the market and competitive environment in which they operate. Drawing on our proprietary data sources and deep knowledge of the consulting industry, we provide strategic recommendations to help them grow. This role will be central to the delivery of these projects, with a strong focus on research, analysis, and creating high-quality content.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis: You will be comfortable working with multiple sources of qualitative and quantitative data. You'll have the ability to identify the most relevant information and interpret what this means for a particular consulting firm in any given market. You'll also be comfortable taking a point of view and drawing on your insights to make strategic recommendations.
  • Content writing: We need you to be able to communicate your insights effectively, usually in the form of PowerPoint presentations. This means you'll be a great writer, with the ability to convey important messages in a clear and concise way. You'll also pride yourself on the quality of your PowerPoint deliverables, and have the ability to quickly put together superb presentations.
  • Interviews: You'll be requested to conduct research interviews, typically with either consulting firms or their clients, over the telephone or face to face. You'll use your professional and approachable demeanour to quickly build relationships with interviewees. You'll be expected to take notes, write them up, and process them according to whatever system we have in place for doing so at the time.
  • Presentations: Occasionally you may be asked to create engaging and informative presentations and to deliver those to audiences ranging from very small groups of clients to larger audiences.
  • Project management: You'll be highly organised and make juggling competing projects and priorities look easy. A strong communicator, you'll always keep your stakeholders—internal and external—informed. You'll take the wheel on a variety of project tasks, from creating surveys to desk-based research.

This is the sort of person we need

We need someone with 18-24 months’ experience as a management consultant, ideally gained in a Big Four or a strategy firm. You will be someone who takes a keen interest in the global political and economic climate, and can articulate how these trends impact the consulting industry. You’ll be highly analytical and able to dive into the detail but will be equally comfortable assessing the big picture. You will often be juggling multiple projects and deliverables, so it’s essential that you are organised and calm under pressure. Finally, we need you to be a real completer-finisher, so that the team can trust that your work is client-ready at all times and requires minimal review.

We want our organisation to consist of people who:

  • Are generous with their time in order to help each other (and our customers) succeed
  • Take the wheel when needed
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Can always be objective and honest
  • Keep an eye on the future
  • Are always professional
  • Have a sense of fairness
  • Trust each other
  • Ask, listen and hear
  • Are approachable
  • Are curious, and who want to learn
  • Are constantly looking for ways to improve things (products and processes)
  • Develop products we can be proud of
  • Have an intuitive sense of what’s important
  • Demonstrate leadership by example
  • Laugh a lot

Our team and culture

The Source team is made up of around 40 bright and hard-working individuals, many of whom started their careers in large consulting firms before joining Source to continue doing challenging analytical and strategic work, for consulting firms themselves, in a more diverse and flexible environment. We travel frequently to major business centres like New York, Frankfurt, Paris, and Dubaibut rarely to an extent that’s overwhelming.

Every year, those who have worked with the company for the longest time get to nominate a destination for one of our quarterly meetings, and then everybody gets to vote on where we go. So far that’s taken us to Istanbul, Seville, Dubrovnik, Corfu, and the Loire Valley in France.

Source is an equal opportunities employer and will provide reasonable support to disabled applicants throughout the recruitment process. Please contact laura.pisani-ferry@sourceglobalresearch.com to identify any additional support that you might require to enable you to make an application.

Please note that the successful candidate will be asked to fill out a criminal record self-disclosure form.
