About the opportunity: 

We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) to sit at the centre of our new business revenue generating team. The Senior BDM will execute the go-to-market strategy to drive pipeline growth, build our profile within target accounts, and deliver ROI across existing and new markets. Target accounts are both in existing markets (consulting, tax, risk, and audit) and in new markets we are targeting (for example legal services and private equity).  

The Senior BDM will be expected to nurture and expand relationships with key target accounts as well as proactively reach out to new contacts to initiate and develop further relationships and opportunities. Working closely with the marketing and growth team, the senior BDM will be required to progress leads generated through campaigns, mailers, and referrals, as well as being able to expertly communicate our unique offering to build a pipeline of high yielding and quality clients. We will expect the Senior BDM to gain content knowledge and show interest in engaging clients around innovative ideas in the professional services space. 

This role will report into the Director of Marketing and Strategic Growth and work alongside a Business Development Executive. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Primarily responsible for the growth of key target accounts through rapidly fostering relationships with stakeholders, demonstrating Source’s expertise and value-add 
  • Identifying opportunities to build engagement with key target accounts by having a sound understanding of the trends in the market 
  • Working closely with the marketing and growth team to generate leads by designing and activating campaigns linked to industry or specific markets, for key and non-key target accounts 
  • Identifying and driving sales activity that leverage the content and campaigns created by marketing to build pipeline and convert leads  
  • Having the ability and credibility to talk alone about our content as well as trends in the market to be able to engage clients directly in conversations around opportunities  
  • Writing proposals, having meetings, and taking responsibility for overall relationships with key stakeholders in key target accounts   
  • Developing and building rapport with non-key target accounts, managing in-bound enquiries and using marketing where possible to open doors 
  • Following-up on marketing qualified leads, replying to enquiries, converting leads  
  • Working in partnership with the key accounts management (KAM) team to ensure a smooth transition of target account to key account 
  • Providing support and mentoring team members  

Skills and Required Experience: 

We need someone who is both a hunter and a farmer. Someone who is driven and committed with strong influencing skills and impact. And someone who has strong stakeholder management – you will be working with some of the most senior clients in the world’s leading professional services firms, so your relationship development will need to be at its best.  

  • 3-5+ years of Business Development experience with a strong focus on sales 
  • Experience/background in the consulting industry would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Strong knowledge of the sales cycle from initial contact/prospecting to purchase 
  • Building and executing sales campaigns and lead generation activities  
  • An interest in consulting and other related professional services industry trends would be a bonus 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an innate ability to foster strong relationships and build trust with clients, prospects, and colleagues 
  • A commercial outlook with a focus on results 
  • Use of Salesforce to drive and track relationships and campaigns would be a plus.  

The ultimate measure of success is to turn a target account into a key account for handover to the key accounts team. We don’t have a sales commission structure. We operate as one-team, and compensation is purely salary and whole company bonus based.
